CINCINNATI (WXIX) - It was a play that rookie linebackers Demetrius Knight and Barrett Carter had practiced and a play where they should have known exactly where they needed to be. To open the fourth quarter on Sunday at Lambeau Field, the Packers pounded the rock right up the middle. Knight ran to the left, Carter ran to the right and no one covered the middle gap that Packers running back Josh Jacobs coasted through for a simple 14-yard touchdown.
“We’ve got to play it better,” Carter said. “When we got to the sideline, we were mad about that play. It’s a play we’ve repped in practice before. It wasn’t a new play for us.”
The Bengals are letting the kids play. As a result, they’re going to have to live with some mistakes.
