DAYTON, Ohio (WXIX) - A 5-year-old who was killed last week in Ohio has been identified.

Legaci Taylor, 5, was identified by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office as the child who was shot on Oct. 10.

Taylor, according to Dayton police, was sitting in a vehicle with her 27-year-old dad when it was hit with numerous rounds of gunfire around 9:30 p.m.

Both were taken to the hospital, but the 5-year-old died, police said. The father was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Dayton Police Department’s Homicide Unit is currently investigating the incident and asks anyone with information about the shooting to contact them by calling 937-333-1232 or Crime Stoppers at 937-22-7867.
