SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - The Sandy Springs Police Department wants people to avoid the area of the city near Carroll Manor Drive and North River Parkway.

What we know:

The police department tweeted the warning around 11:45 a.m. on Thursday. They said it was due to a large police presence.

The area appears to be a residential area just west of Turner McDonald Parkway, according to Google Maps.

FOX 5 flew over the area and saw officers with weapons drawn outside a home in the area, and the house's door was open.
