Cody A. Balmer , 38, pleaded guilty on Tuesday (October 14) to several charges , including attempted murder and arson, in connection with the April attack on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro 's residence. The Dauphin County District Attorney's Office confirmed that Balmer was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in state prison under a plea deal.

Balmer admitted to scaling a security fence and using Molotov cocktails to set fire to the governor's mansion in Harrisburg. The attack occurred just hours after a Passover Seder at the residence. Governor Shapiro, his family, and guests were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The fire caused millions of dollars in damage to the historic building, which lacked sprinklers.
