A Scottish lifeboat crew has rescued a vessel "in difficulty" yesterday afternoon. ‌

Alarms were sounded at around 1.35pm on October 13 while Dunbar RNLI volunteer Gordon Kirkham was preparing for his final assessment. ‌

He was dispatched to a motor cruiser a mile from Torness Power Station after a boat had become 'tangled in fishing gear'. The owner was unsuccessful in attempting to free the propeller. ‌

A crew member was put in the water to cut the rope and free the rope. The vessel continued onto its destination and no damage was done .

The Dunbar RNLI stood down at 2.25pm and returned to the station. ‌
