(NEXSTAR) – Actor Alec Baldwin assured his fans that he’s “fine” after crashing his wife’s Range Rover into a tree in East Hampton, New York, on Monday morning.

In an Instagram video he posted that evening, Baldwin told his followers that he wanted to share a “quick message” in response to reports of an incident involving him and his brother Stephen Baldwin.

“I was in a car accident this morning. I’m fine. My brother Stephen was out visiting me, on Long Island. And we spent the weekend out there for the film festival,” Baldwin said, referring to the Hamptons International Film Festival, which ended Monday.

Baldwin said the driver of a large garbage truck “cut me off,” causing him to swerve off the road.
