Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met with PM Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday. The two leaders agreed on uranium supply, a $1.7 billion (Rs 15,000 crore) oil refinery, and enhanced defence cooperation.
They also discussed strengthening the supply chain of critical minerals (copper, coking coal, uranium). 10 agreements (MoUs) were signed between the two countries.
India and Mongolia began their strategic friendship 10 years ago, and now defence and security cooperation is growing.
India will send the holy relics of Buddha's two disciples, Arahant Sariputta and Arahant Maha Moggallana, to Mongolia in 2026. Additionally, a Sanskrit teacher will be sent to the Gandan Monastery for one year.
