Bharti Airtel and Google have joined hands to establish India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh — a move that’s set to fast-track AI adoption and strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure.

The project, backed by an investment of around $15 billion between 2026 and 2030, marks Google’s largest commitment to AI infrastructure in India . The Visakhapatnam AI hub will include gigawatt-scale data centre operations powered by clean energy and supported by a strong subsea network, designed to handle the country’s most demanding AI workloads.

As part of the collaboration, Airtel and Google will jointly build a purpose-designed data centre and a Cable Landing Station (CLS) to host Google’s new international subsea cables.
