What's the good in having a time capsule if you're not going to open it? (Stephen Watson's report in The News,10/7/25). To say nothing of the time and effort to stock it, bury it, and pay for it. All for naught, apparently because of a government bureaucracy's edict! Capsules seem to be a part of everyday life, at least during my 77 years of it.
Come on, NY State Parks and Recreation Department. Lighten up and allow the time capsule from 1975 – buried on the Artpark grounds in Lewiston by the Ant Farm group – to be unearthed now, marking the capsule's 50th year. It was deposited below ground in good faith and in accordance with the rules and regulations of Artpark in effect at that time.
The least the state can do is to allow the populace who have been born since 1975 learn about the his
