Tyone Sobry is coming home.

The Saskatoon Blades have acquired the hometown defenceman from the Prince Albert Raiders to bolster their depleted defensive corps.

Sobry was obtained in exchange for a conditional sixth-round pick in the Western Hockey League’s Prospect Draft in 2029.

The Blades’ blueline had becoming thin with only six players on the roster prior to Tuesday’s deal. To make matters worse, shutdown D-man Isaac Poll got injured in Saturday’s 3-0 shutout win over the visiting Kamloops Blazers.

“Tyrone brings valuable experience in the (East) division and in the playoffs,” said Blades general manager and club president Colin Priestner in a team release. “He will give us some needed depth if we incur any other injuries to our defence corps.”
