One of Scotland's last surviving veterans of the D-Day landings has been awarded an honorary degree.
Jim Glennie, who turned 100 this year, was just 18 when he took part in the largest military seaborne operation ever attempted. The veteran, who is from Turriff in Aberdeenshire, was awarded the degree by the University of Aberdeen on Tuesday.
He was presented with a Master of the University (MUniv) at a special ceremony at King’s College Chapel. During the ceremony Mr Glennie laid a wreath at the University's War Memorial to honour the sacrifices made by those who have died in conflict.
