Last year, the Voodoos won just two games after New Year’s and got swept in the first round of the playoffs by Hearst. Article content Article content

Last week, Powassan won more games than they won in the last three months of the 2024-25 season.

The club won twice at the Showcase Event in Sudbury and then won an overtime epic in Espanola on Saturday.

Powassan is ranked eighth in the nation and has just one regular loss in the season through ten games. The Voodoos trail first-place Hearst by three points but have three games in hand and the best winning percentage in the northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.
