A man injured in a Friday, Oct. 10, crash in a crash along Route 8 in Penn Township remains sedated in the intensive care unit in Allegheny General Hospital, according to a GoFundMe page created on the man’s behalf.
Shannon Ace was on his way to work Friday morning around 6:25 a.m. when a tree fell in front of him. His Jeep Wrangler went airborne over a guard rail near 313 Pittsburgh Road and down a hillside, the GoFundMe said.
The GoFundMe raised $1,257 of its $7,500 goal in its first 12 hours.
Ace was flown to Allegheny General Hospital and will remain sedated on a ventilator until his pain subsides.
Ace sustained a broken back, broken neck, broken ribs, a broken sternum, multiple facial fractures and other minor injuries. The GoFundMe said he has undergone one of several surgeries
