The Jewish Federation of Cleveland will host author Sarah Hurwitz at its annual Women IN Philanthropy MaIN Event at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at Green Road Synagogue at 2437 S. Green Road in Beachwood in support of the 2026 Campaign for Jewish Needs.

Hurwitz, who earned degrees from both Harvard College and Harvard Law School and worked as a White House speechwriter for about eight years, wrote the recently-published book, “As a Jew: Reclaiming Our Story From Those Who Blame, Shame, and Try to Erase Us,” which explores living and identifying as a Jewish person during a time where antisemitism is on the rise.

Hurwitz said in an email to the Cleveland Jewish News she plans to discuss some of the themes of this book. Each attendee will receive a copy of the book.
