YOUNGSTOWN The Western Reserve Transit Authority (WRTA) in Youngstown is opening up nominations for the fifth annual WRTA Holiday Lights Award.

The award aims to celebrate the non-profit organizations in the Mahoning Valley that help "brighten up" their communities each year.

Twelve organizations are selected each year out of more than 100 organizations. Since the award program's launch in 2021, almost 50 organizations have been recognized.

"Non-profits face many challenges and often rely on donations to fulfill their mission," says Dean Harris, CEO of the WRTA.

Harris continued," We want to honor their impact - not just during the holidays, but all year long."

To nominate a non-profit, an authorized management-level staff member may submit a nomination by visiting the WRTA website
