Infiltration bid foiled along LoC, 2 killed

SRINAGAR: Security forces Tuesday foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control ( LoC ) in Kupwara district’s Keran sector, about 130km from Srinagar, and gunned down two terrorists. A large cache of weapons and equipment was seized from the site of the encounter. On October 13 evening, a joint team of the Army and J&K Police had launched an anti-terror operation in Machhal sector based on intelligence inputs “corroborated by sources and agencies” regarding a possible infiltration attempt, the Army said in a statement.
