FAYETTE, Ohio — About 40 people gathered at Harrison Lake State Park on Tuesday to celebrate $6 million in improvements made over by past 10 months by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
In addition to Ohio DNR employees, those in attendance included multiple campers and employees of Mosser Construction.
“Not one extra site was crammed in here,” Harrison Lake State Park Manager Don Gurzynski said in explaining that the project met the public’s goal of modernizing the park without losing its identity.
“With the footprint that was Harrison Lake, the same country charm that was here before is still here,” he added.
The 142-acre state park is in western Fulton County, three miles southwest of Fayette, Ohio, and about an hour’s drive west of Toledo.
