PEORIA, Ill. – A man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl earlier this year has been indicted by a Peoria County grand jury.

The jury on Tuesday indicted 52-year-old Eddie Blakes on one count of Criminal Sexual Assault. He is due back in court on Thursday for an arraignment hearing.

The alleged attack occurred in January, when a 16-year-old girl had reportedly told police she ran away from home and two unknown men picked her up.

The victim was taken to a Peoria residence, where the two men, along with a third man who arrived after, allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Blakes reportedly admitted to being in the home during police questioning, but denied having contact with the victim.
