A Chandler man’s vehicle was swept into Weekes Wash Monday due to fast-moving water and he was rescued by Apache Junction police.

At approximately 8:38 p.m. Oct. 13, the Apache Junction Police Department received a 911 call reporting that a vehicle had been swept into Weekes Wash near Fourth Avenue and Tomahawk Road due to fast-moving water, police said.

Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, a 59-year-old male from Chandler. Officers instructed the driver to remain inside the vehicle for his safety.
