Kirsten Storms is sharing an update on her health battle.

The General Hospital star—who has been on a break from the soap opera —shared that she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in January and is set to soon undergo surgery to treat it. The ailment—a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain that becomes life-threatening if it bursts, per the National Library of Medicine —was discovered three years after she underwent a craniotomy to remove a cyst.

"The January scan happened because I had symptoms that the doctors thought could've been brain related," Storms wrote on Instagram Oct. 13. "Ok - when I say that I was shocked when the doctors told me they found an aneurysm on the right side of my brain...welp, I basically launched into a standup comedy routine."
