After her ex-husband Kevin Federline expressed concern for her “situation,” the “Toxic” singer shared an eyebrow-raising message encouraging her followers to build a chosen family if they feel disrespected by their given one.

“Honor thy mother and father, but always protect your heart,” Britney wrote on Instagram Oct. 14 alongside a photo of the bottom of the ocean. “Only honor them if they have sacredly honored you !!! If not, you find a new family.”
