Attorneys agree that a physical altercation turned deadly when 37-year-old Dareeque Dorman stabbed Gregory McMullen, 36, multiple times at a house party in East Akron, leading to his death. But they disagree on what led to the violent encounter.

Summit County Prosecutor Ben Carro told jurors in his opening statement during Dorman's murder trial that Dorman escalated what was a fist fight when he drew a knife, sliced McMullen's face and stabbed his chest.
