FLORENCE, S.C. -- It's not long before the SCHSL state playoffs, so there's no better time for South Florence and West Florence to play each other.

Although the city rivals are no longer in the same classification, both teams found it paramount to still meet since both programs reached last year's Lower State finals. On Monday, coach Abby Sullivan's Knights (Class 5A, Div. 2) won 7-0 over coach Kim Osborne's Bruins (Class 4A).

West Florence's singles wins were recorded by Shelby White, Grace Murrell, Elle Brannon, Maia Rivera-Cintron and Emma Watford. In doubles, the wins were earned by the teams of White/Murrell, and Mattie Segars/Lillian Guerriero.

The Knights only lost 13 games in singles and lost 1 in doubles.
