When Tye Rauschert was hired as head coach at Junction City in mid-June, a mutual contact gave him the phone number for Josh Wilcox .

Four months later, with Rauschert heading the program and Wilcox serving as offensive coordinator, the Tigers find themselves 4-2 and alone atop Class 4A Special District 3 following a 24-7 victory over previously unbeaten Sweet Home.

“I knew if I could surround myself with amazing men who just also happened to know a little about football, too, that our players would not only learn a lot about the game of football but more importantly, how to become better men,” Rauschert said. “What I absolutely love about this group is their team chemistry. Each week, we continue to build and grow as a program.”
