WOODMERE, Ohio -- The village is mourning the death of retired Police K-9 Officer Revan, who served the Woodmere Police Department alongside his handler, Patrolman Christopher Dotson, from Jan. 9, 2019, until his retirement in April 2024.

Revan, the first police K-9 in Woodmere’s history, died Thursday (Oct. 9) at age 6.

A memorial service is set for 3 p.m. Friday at Woodmere Village Hall, 27899 Chagrin Blvd.

It will follow a police processional and memorial ceremony, honoring his life and service, that will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Orange Village maintenance garage, 4680 Lander Road.

Revan was born Nov. 18, 2018.
