A 24-year-old man accused of causing a head-on collision that killed a boy and seriously injured his three siblings in Riverside while traveling over 100 mph under the influence of marijuana must stand trial for murder and other charges, a judge ruled Tuesday.

Andres Laris of Riverside allegedly caused the fatal collision in 2023 but was not arrested until over a year later following a Riverside Police Department investigation.

At the end of a preliminary hearing Tuesday, Riverside County Superior Court Judge Thomas Kelly found there was sufficient evidence to bound Laris over for trial on the murder count, as well as three felony counts of roadway violations resulting in great bodily injury.
