LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A 19-year-old man accused of driving a stolen vehicle reportedly told officers he knew the car was stolen during a recent traffic stop, according to the Laredo Police Department.
The incident happened on Thursday, Oct. 2, when officers pulled over a gray 2019 Hyundai Elantra near the intersection of Houston Street and San Bernardo Avenue for a traffic violation. Police said the driver, identified as Eduardo Antonio Navarro III, allegedly told officers during a pat-down, “I know it’s stolen.”
Investigators said Navarro also claimed he was going to be paid $250 to take the vehicle across the border into Mexico. He told police another person had given him the car outside a restaurant on Santa Ursula Avenue.
