LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - This Saturday, October 18, marks the 10th anniversary of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, an event that continues to unite the Laredo community in the fight against the disease.

Valdemar Perez, development manager for the Alzheimer’s Association, and committee member Ricardo Hernandez spoke about the upcoming walk, which has grown significantly over the years.

“It shows a sign of hope for patients who are going through the journey now, anybody who’s carrying those genes,” Perez said. “Now that we have all those tests that we’re able to do in Laredo, we’re showing a sign of hope.”

Event check-in begins at 8 a.m., followed by a ceremony at 9 a.m. and the walk at 9:30 a.m. at Texas A&M International University, 5201 University Blvd.
