Founded in 1989, the St. Lawrence String Quartet has played around the world, introducing new ears to classical music and providing comfort and beauty to the ears of seasoned music lovers. Now they have teamed up with Stanford University to form the St. Lawrence Legacy Series. Three of today’s most celebrated string quartets will have a week-long residency at Stanford focused on community engagement, collaboration and mentorship. Each residency culminates in a once-in-a-lifetime performance at Bing Concert Hall. This week the Viano Quartet will perform Beethoven’s “Harp” Quartet alongside Saratoga singer Vienna Teng in addition to several of Teng’s original pieces as well.
