Legendary director Billy Wilder’s 1959 comedy Some Like It Hot follows two Prohibition-era jazz musicians (Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon), who, after witnessing a mob hit in Chicago, flee to Florida by impersonating women and joining an all-female band. (The movie, one of Marilyn Monroe’s last, won her a Golden Globe.) The film is so iconic it inspired the 2022 musical, created by composer Marc Shaiman and lyricist Scott Wittman (the duo behind Hairspray), which earned four Tonys. Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, this production stars Matt Loehr, Tavis Kordell and Leandra Ellis-Gaston. Performances go until Oct. 26.
