NEW ORLEANS — William M. Hammack, a New Orleans businessman and political donor, is suing state senator and mayoral candidate Royce Duplessis, political strategist Tyronne B. Walker, and social justice advocate Gary Chambers, Jr., for defamation.

The lawsuit centers around an email Hammack accidentally sent to Duplessis in August. Hammack claims he was actually trying to send a message to his lawyer about a political action committee that supports Moreno, but sent it to Duplessis by mistake. During last month's mayoral debate on WWL,
