WASHINGTON — DC Fire and Rescue crews responded to a fire aboard a yacht once owned by the father of the infamous Jeffrey Epstein henchwoman Ghislaine Maxwell near the Wharf neighborhood on Tuesday.

As crews responded to the 600 block of Water Street, what was described as “light smoke” could be seen coming from the yacht, which is currently owned by Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife.

Around 2:20 p.m., DC Fire officials said that a “small fire” had erupted on the port side of the vessel. They did not say whether anyone was injured during the incident, nor did they indicate what might have caused the fire.

A previous owner, Robert Maxwell, had named the craft “Lady Ghislaine,” after his daughter.
