NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department say they are pursuing strong leads in a deadly drive-by shooting on Haynes Park Drive in early October.

MNPD reports that 21-year-old Amari Christian has died while being hospitalized after he was shot during the shooting on October 5.

Police have released the following information on the shooting investigation:

Two groups of females involved in an ongoing dispute went to the area at about 6 p.m. to fight.

Pepper spray was used and the groups began to leave.

A Honda Accord drove by and fired shots toward young men in the area.

Amari Christian was hit in the chest by a bullet and was taken to a local hospital.
