PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Twenty-one people were evacuated due to a gas leak in Vancouver Tuesday morning.
The Vancouver Fire Department responded to reports of a leaking gas line at the intersection of Main Street and East Seventh Street just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Individuals from seven nearby buildings were evacuated as firefighters shut down the entire block, according to a press release from the department.
Fire crews worked with personnel from NW Natural and Clark Public Utilities to locate and repair the leak, which was in the center of the intersection.
Another gas leak was reported in the same area on Oct. 6, a spokesperson confirmed. There has also been significant construction in the area.
