A leak in a natural gas line at the intersection of Main and East Seventh streets prompted the evacuation of seven nearby buildings Tuesday morning. This is the second time a gas leak has occurred in that spot this month .
The Vancouver Fire Department responded at 8:53 a.m. to reports of a gas line leak. Upon arrival, a crew of 11 firefighters shut down the entire block and evacuated 21 people from nearby buildings.
No injuries were reported.
The fire department worked in coordination with NW Natural and Clark Public Utilities to locate and secure the gas line, according to a department news release. The block was reopened to public traffic about an hour later. Tags Vancouver
