TAZEWELL COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - The Tazewell County Health Department will continue to offer educational courses, including mental health first aid classes, to the public, thanks to a $6,000 grant.

The $6,000 grant comes from the Community Foundation of Central Illinois. It will provide mental health first aid classes to the public free of charge.

Community goers can expect at least eight courses starting next year, each nearly six hours long. Those interested can learn how to recognize and respond to the signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use crisis.

The adult class will teach learners how to respond to an adult in their life who might be experiencing one of these challenges. The youth class, on the other hand, will teach adult learners how to respond to a youth who
