UPDATE (Oct. 14, 2 p.m.): The Mobile County Sheriff's Office has provided an update on the case where a Mobile County teen was taken by a 44-year-old man to Valdosta, Georgia.

According to officials, they first received the report of a missing girl on Oct. 6, after she was put into the National Crime Information Center database.

The following day, Oct. 7, MCSO deputies began investigating the incident. They spoke to the girl's family and discovered that she had left with her clothes and cellphone; however, her phone appeared to be turned off.

It was at that time that family members told deputies that she could be with 44-year-old Scott Daniel Davis.

The family allegedly told officials that Davis had shown up at their home on Sept. 5, and, at the time, they believed he was a teenager.
