PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Advocates in Pawtucket are happy this morning, after Morley Field underwent a comprehensive cleanup.
According to the Woodlawn Community Advocates, lead by three state representatives, the clean up addressed, quote, “three years of neglect of the only large greenspace in the working-class neighborhood.”
Residents had been asking city officials and Mayor Don Grebien to clean, restore, and reopen the field as it faces development into a trucking depot.
The community advocates say, they’ll continue to urge the mayor to reopen the park and to halt all development plans.
