MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WEVV) — Madisonville police initiated an investigation into Delgado's Tax Services on West Center Street on October 1, suspecting illegal activities.

On October 10, an undercover officer visited the shop and spoke with the owner, Kimberly Brito, about obtaining a fake ID. The officer paid Brito $350 for the fraudulent license.

Authorities believe the fake IDs were targeting illegal immigrants.

“They’re basically preying on them, telling them, ‘Hey, come and pay for this and we can get you this documentation,’ but the documentation isn’t legal,” said Major Jason McKnight with the Madisonville Police Department.

A search warrant led to the discovery of several fake IDs at the shop.
