PRINCETON/SAVANNA, Ill. (KWQC) - Two businesses are closing plants in Northern Illinois and cutting almost 250 jobs.

Elkay Plumbing in Savanna will close, cutting a total of 178 jobs, and the closure of Ingersoll Rand in Princeton will cost 70 jobs.

A total of 178 Elkay workers will be out of a job by December, according to the Illinois database of layoffs .

Elkay Plumbing first notified WARN about the closure in April. They recently revised their layoff count on Friday.

The company started laying workers off in April, according to the state database, the next cuts will be on Oct. 17 and 24.

The city in Carroll County has a population of about 2,700.
