If there's one channel that made all the groove-worthy songs trend among a generation and make them part of people's music playlist, then MTV is it. The channel that shaped the music and youth culture for more than 40 years, is now set to say goodbye to five of its iconic channels. On October 12 2025, Paramount Global announced that MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV and MTV Live will permanently stop broadcasting by December 31st, 2025. For numerous generations, these channels were the way to listen to songs, watch their videos and have the influence and impact of music in their worlds not only in songs, but also fashion, pop culture and more. Now, what will remain is the main MTV channel which includes primarily TV shows like Catfish and The Challenge.
