Carl Carlson is 93 years old. He volunteers at the Elmore County food pantry just about every day.

“It’s almost every day but not quite. I do my best, sometimes I leave a little early,” said Carlson.

We’re told the father, grandfather, and great grandfather makes peanut brittle and takes it to shut-ins and picks up litter in his neighborhood. He also decorates pinecones and gives them to anyone he meets.

He was nominated for the pay it forward award by his neighbor, Donna Lee.

“Because I wanted him to know that people appreciate his kindness through the years. He’s lived in Montgomery since he came here with the Air Force and got married and raised his family here. And he had a business downtown and he met many people and volunteers through his church and now at the food pantry. I want
