WJBF - Brandy Taylor is a proud product of the Burke County School System, and now, she is giving back to her community in and out of the classroom.

Taylor has been a key part of a positive, productive learning environment for 25 years. She teaches Georgia Studies at Burke County Middle School.

"It concentrates on Georgia history. So that when they go to high school, they know what their history is from their state."

Taylor makes sure she has a connection with each bright young mind in here. It makes it easier for them to understand and appreciate their daily lessons.

"The first thing I do is build relationships with my students. So all of my students know that I love them. And everything that I'm doing for them, I'm doing so that they will be better citizens in our country."
