CODY — Wyoming’s gun-friendly culture will propel the success of the State Shooting Complex, according to Sen. Larry Hicks, R-Baggs.
Last week, Baggs also told the State Shooting Complex board that the Legislature will likely approve an additional $5.5 million for the project planned south of Cody.
“Nobody will remember who we are or what we did, but they will remember that they have a world-class facility that everyone in Wyoming can be proud of,” Hicks said. “...This will be international in scope.”
Hicks, described as the “progenitor” of the project by SSC board chair Glenn Ross, said the facility has the potential to make a significant positive impact to the state and local economy.
He cited the Cameo Shooting and Education Complex in Colorado that has held competitions generating
