PINEHURST, Texas — The Pinehurst City Council has hired Robbie Hood as the city’s new manager, officially accepting the resignation of interim city manager and police chief Stephen Stroud.
Stroud had been suspended at a previous meeting after the Texas Municipal Police Association accused him of “union busting tactics” and violating the collective bargaining agreement. The association also raised concerns about his dual role as interim city administrator and police chief, calling it a potential conflict of interest.
Hood previously served as Pinehurst’s city administrator six years ago before taking the city manager position in Vidor, where he later retired. He previously said he’s ready to help guide Pinehurst forward.
