Earlier this fall the Red Sox lost one of their top executives when assistant general manager Paul Toboni was hired as the Washington Nationals’ new president of baseball operations.
Now, another key executive is set to follow him.
Devin Pearson, the Red Sox director of amateur scouting, is reportedly set to join the Nationals as an assistant GM. Pearson had been with the Red Sox since 2017 and held a variety of scouting titles, and he most notably oversaw the club’s last three drafts, bringing aboard numerous top prospects including Kyle Teel, Connelly Early and Payton Tolle.
