CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - MLB Insider Jon Heyman reported on Tuesday night that Guardians catcher Austin Hedges on a one-year contract.
Hedges batted only .161 with five home runs and 10 RBI in 65 games last season, but his value weighed not in what he hits. Hedges is considered one of the best defensive catchers in the league as well as one of the best at handling a pitching staff. He is also an enormous clubhouse presence.
