After a coalition of farmers and businesses lobbied for months to ask for a pause on future minimum wage increases, the Boulder County commissioners held a public hearing Tuesday on the topic.

Several options are under consideration, including keeping the current wage schedule, temporarily pausing the scheduled wage increase or switching to a lower wage schedule to align with the one adopted by the city of Boulder. The current schedule boosts Boulder County’s minimum wage to $25 an hour by 2030.

But after hearing from about 30 speakers, the commissioners agreed Tuesday to table their discussion to the Oct. 21 business meeting. The goal, they said, is to give staff members direction on a revised minimum wage ordinance, which would be considered by the commissioners in November. Community
