CLEVELAND — Cavaliers small forward De’Andre Hunter did not play in the second half of the Cavs’ preseason finale Oct. 14 against the Detroit Pistons at Rocket Arena .
The Cavs announced Hunter suffered a right knee contusion.
Hunter ended up on the floor with about five minutes left in the first quarter and came up limping after trying to draw a charge against Pistons forward Tobias Harris. The Cavs called timeout with 4:55 remaining, and Hunter limped to the bench, where medical personnel checked on him.
Hunter returned to the game with 9:28 left in the second quarter and proceeded to log seven minutes of action before halftime. He looked fine, so the Cavs are likely just exercising caution.
Hunter started against the Pistons and scored 14 points on 3-of-6 shooting from
