HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- A famous Vanderburgh County feline has passed away.

The Vanderburgh Humane Society announced on Tuesday that Ty, also known as Thicken Nugget, passed away. Ty was known for being an overweight cat going through aquatic therapy to lose weight.

The humane society says Ty was a sweet, gentle giant with an affinity for shoes and a ride in his stroller. The humane society says Ty's legacy will live on and there will never be another cat like him.
